  1. Please refer to the NARHA interactive vaulting specialty standards in a current version of the NARHA Standards and Accreditation Manual. These very detailed standards address some of the most important safety concerns for interactive vaulting.  In addition, they contain information about what is needed to start interactive vaulting program.
     

  2. If you decide that this is something you and your center wish to pursue, sign up for one of NARHA’s interactive vaulting workshops. The 3-day workshop teaches you the basics and introduces you to the skills you need to become a successful interactive vaulting instructor.  Please refer to the NARHA Calendar to find NARHA interactive vaulting events that fit your needs.

NARHA Interactive Vaulting Workshop

The NARHA Interactive Vaulting Workshop includes the basics of Interactive Vaulting. Activities to include proper lungeing* technique and appropriate tack, ground exercises, barrel work, and group oriented activities both on and off the horse.

 

Daily activity during the workshop includes:

  • Interactive vaulting lessons and activities

  • Lungeing*

  • Horse and equipment needs overview

  • Practice for participants on skills introduced at the workshop

Criteria to participate in the NARHA Interactive Vaulting Workshop:

*NARHA acknowledges that both spellings "lungeing" and "longeing" are correct and used in the literature when discussing use of the horse on a circle. NARHA uses the spelling "lungeing" in all documents.
