NARHA Driving Precautions
 

 

 

 


1)           Poor head, neck, and/or trunk control

2)           Required medical equipment such as an oxygen tank, suction machine, or ventilator

3)           Severe allergies or asthma to animal dander, molds, trees, etc.

4)           Uncontrolled seizures

5)           Morbid obesity

6)           Severe behavior problems – will not follow directions – might “bail” out

7)           Painful joints such as in RA disease

8)           Uncontrolled movements as in Athetoid CP

9)           Active alcoholic/ drug users

10)       Severe, painful scoliosis

11)       Some psychiatric patients who are not in touch with their surroundings

12)       Very low functioning students who cannot learn or follow directions

13)       Osteogenesis Imperfecta that is active where movement may cause fractures

14)       Advanced Muscular Dystrophy

15)       Atlanto-axial Instability

16)       Painful Spinal problems
