NARHA Applauds the 2007 NARHA James Brady Professional Achievement Award Winner!

Nancy McGibbon
is one of the founding mothers of the American Hippotherapy Association (AHA) and hippotherapy as we know it in this country.  She was in the original group of therapists who went to Germany in 1987 to train in hippotherapy and who went on to write the initial curriculum for training therapists in this country.  She served as the American Hippotherapy Association’s first president.

In addition to being a licensed physical therapist, Nancy is a NARHA certified instructor and has contributed countless hours working with instructors and therapists at many different NARHA centers.  She has completed FOUR major research projects, all measuring the effect of equine movement upon patients.  Who else in our industry has accomplished that?  All this work has helped lay a solid foundation that supports the effectiveness of therapeutic horsemanship and hippotherapy.  Nancy has earned the status of a world renowned resource.
