2008
NARHA Equine of the Year Recognition Award
Nomination Information
Help us identify the equine participating in a NARHA Center
program who best defines the heart and soul of equine assisted
activities and therapies (EAAT). Nominate the horse, pony, donkey,
mule or burro that you feel personifies the willingness,
attitude and diversity of talents that these hard-working
partners bring to EAAT and all it stands for.
Each
Regional Equine of the Year will receive a portrait that
memorializes their contributions to the NARHA Center program
where they work. Recent NARHA Regional and NARHA National
Equine of the Year Award winners have received gift
certifications from Purina for supplies of Equine Senior. And
the National Equine of the Year will be recognized and
celebrated at the 2008 NARHA National Conference and Annual
Meeting at the Awards Dinner on Saturday, November 1.
Join us
again in celebrating the 2007 Equine of the Year!
Princeton
is described as “proud,” “patient,” “healthy as a horse,” and
“solid as a rock.” At 32 he is still making spectators take
notice at competitions for both disabled and able-bodied riders.
Princeton is a handsome gray Arabian/Thoroughbred cross who just
wasn’t ready to retire with his owner. He came to live at
Fieldstone Farm sixteen years ago after field hunting, eventing
and competing in the hunter ring.
Princeton’s steady but active gait; lofty trot and obvious
breeding make him a wonderful ambassador when he visits guests
and donors. His ability to adapt to each rider’s needs makes him
a Fieldstone Farm favorite. The staff, students and volunteers
all adore Princeton.
